Remote work trends continue to grow and are likely to become the new normal. The workplace of the future will therefore have to provide employees with more flexibility to work remotely with teams all over the world.
One of the challenges that comes with remote teams is to provide a positive work environment where employees are engaged and recognised despite not seeing each other fact-to-face every day.
That’s one of the topics we discussed with Hanna Ujainen, CFO at GroupM Finland. We also spoke with her about the company culture at GroupM, challenges the company was facing and how they used the Unipos platform to achieve their bigger goal of increasing employee satisfaction.
What does GroupM do?
GroupM is the world’s leading media investment company. Our group has helped redefine the industry through the development and creation of data and technology platforms that give our agencies and our clients an advantage.
We create competitive advantage for advertisers via our worldwide organisation of media experts who deliver powerful insights on consumers and media platforms, trading expertise, market leading brand-safe media, technology solutions, addressable TV, content, sports and more.
How would you describe the company culture at GroupM?
At GroupM, people are at the heart of everything we do. We want GroupM to be a place that makes employees feel inspired to work and proud about what they do and how they are changing the overall communications landscape.
What challenges were you trying to address by implementing Unipos in your organisation?
We want to continuously increase employee satisfaction and wellbeing across the organisation. This includes working according to our company values, supporting leadership and building trust and a positive atmosphere.
With Unipos, we are looking to provide more visibility to our company values across teams and add positive energy within the company.
How would you describe your experience with Unipos so far?
It was easy to implement, and I really like the friendly and service-minded staff at Unipos.
We now have all local employees on board, and I have already been recommending the service across the GroupM companies in the Nordics. It would be great to have the tool in use across borders.
Can you share an example of a time when Unipos helped your organisation?
During COVID-19, when people are not able to meet face-to-face, Unipos has been a great tool for providing positive feedback and recognition and creating a positive atmosphere despite the circumstances.
Via Unipos we were also able to support those in need as we donated to a local NGO which has been active in providing food and other supplies to low-income families during the crisis. It’s great to be able to support such initiatives whilst engaging your own employees.
What business impact have you seen since implementing the Unipos platform within your organisation?
We can already see that our Employee Net Promoter Score (ENPS) has improved significantly. We have implemented a few supporting initiatives lately, Unipos being one of them, and they most likely had a positive impact on this development. We are looking forward to seeing additional business impact in the future.
The Unipos team would like to thank Hanna wholeheartedly for this interesting interview.
